Best Indian Web Series of 2021 that topped the charts
The growth that OTT witnessed due to the pandemic and lockdown is surprisingly impressive. We have grown so dependent on OTT for entertainment that our entire leisure time is primarily confined to binging shows and movies on OTT platforms. Indian OTT content is also on top of the game and we saw many new shows on the digital platforms. Here’s a list of some of the best Indian web series of 2021.
1. TVF’s Aspirants

Platform: YouTube
TVF has a storytelling style that connects with us instantly. In 2021, TVF came up with a five-episode series about a bunch of UPSC aspirants. It was one of the best things I watched on YouTube this year. With just five episodes Aspirants takes us on an emotional journey of civil service aspirants and gives us bitter-sweet insights about life. If you haven’t watched TVF’s Aspirants, I recommend you watch it immediately, my friend.

2. The Family Man Season 2

Platform: Amazon Prime Video
This was a series I was most excited about this year. The Family Man Season 1 had simply blown my mind and I remember jumping to the next episodes without a break. While the first season was more about the life of Srikanth who lives a double life as a spy, the second season explored the ‘family’ in The Family Man. The second installment was a notch higher than the first one.

3. Dhindora

Platform: YouTube
After suffering a personal loss this year, YouTuber Bhuvan Bam was back with a bang and gave us one of his best creations ever. Bhuvan Bam has been popular for playing several characters in his YouTube channel (BB Ki Vines) and all these characters had received immense love from the audience, making them widely popular. With Dhindora, Bhuvan brought these characters in a single frame, creating a Bhuvan Bam Universe. The series has a whooping rating of 9.7 in IMDb.
4. Ray

Platform: Netflix
Ray is a collection of four episodes that are inspired by legendary director Satyajit Ray’s stories. The series was created to pay tribute to the indelible work of Satyajit Ray and was successful considerably in doing the same. The series had received mixed responses from the critics.
5. Mumbai Diaries 26/11

Platform: Amazon Prime Video
We have had many shows and movies based on the unfaithful 26/11 attack. Mumbai Diaries 26/11 takes an interesting element about the day by showing the horrible night through the eyes of the doctors who had to take care of the wounded people. The star cast of the series is more than enough to confirm the brilliance of the show. It has Mohit Raina, Konkana Sen Sharma, Shreya Dhanwantari, and others in pivotal roles.
6. Aarya 2

Platform: Disney+Hotstar
It is always a treat to watch former beauty queen Sushmita Sen on screen. She had marked her OTT debut with the Hotstar series Aarya which had received lots of praise for its poignant narrative and stellar performances. This year the second installment of the series was released and went on to receive much love from the audience. Sushmita comes back as a badass mother/don who is adamant to seek revenge on those who wronged her.
