1.Maara (2021)

Remaking a film can be challenging. Debutant director Dhilip Kumar has aced all those challenges. Maara, the Tamil remake of super hit Malayalam movie Charlie is as refreshing as the original. It is not a mere copy of Charlie. Rather it has been adapted perfectly for the Tamil audience. Shraddha Srinath plays Parvathy, who is having a hard time escaping the marriage set up back home. She comes to Kerala to escape all the drama. The place where she lives was earlier occupied by Maara. As she cleans up his stuff, she finds herself amazed by his belongings and is naturally drawn to the character he is. The remaining plot is how she sets out to find him and confess her love for him.

2.Soorarai Pottru (2020)

Cast: Suriya, Aparna Balamurali

After a dry spell last year, Suriya made a massive comeback with his partial biographical drama Soorarai Pottru. Based on the life of GR Gopinath, founder of Deccan Airlines, Soorarai Pottru is an inspiring tale of Nedumaran, a man from a humble background who wants to make air travel feasible for the lower strata of the society. However, his dream does not come at an easy cost. It takes him several years to bring his dream to reality. The film is thoroughly engaging as well as inspiring. All the actors deliver impeccable performances.

If you are in for Vijay’s mass and action, Bigil would be an excellent choice. It’s the same old Vijay but in a different role. He plays dual roles, Michael and Rayappan. The former is a mobster and a retired footballer while the latter is a gangster and Michael’s father. Michael takes it upon his shoulder to coach a women’s football team but faces several changes in the process. Like Shahrukh Khan said, “It’s like Chak De India on steroids!”

Directed by AR Murugadoss, Darbar follows Aaditya Arunachalam (Rajinikanth) the Commissioner of Mumbai Police, who sets out to curb rampant drug trafficking and prostitution in the city. However, as he uncovers a deeper controversy linked to an international drug lord, he tries to fulfill his secret agenda. Bollywood actor Suniel Shetty also plays a prominent role in the film.

6.Theeran Adhigaram Ondru (2017)

Back in the time when there was no technology, how do you think police solved crimes? It’s hard to imagine, isn’t it?
