We fell in love with these destinations after watching these films!
Have you added a destination to your vacation list after watching a movie? We all have at some point. These movies may be the closest we are ever getting to these destinations. Here’s a look at six destinations that we instantly fell in love with after watching these movies!
1.Udaipur – Yeh Jawani Hai Deewani
And just like that, all of us wanted a destination wedding in Udaipur, with Kabira playing in the background. The film has many travel spots like Manali and France but it is the stretched frames of Udaipur that stole our hearts. Aditi’s lavish wedding takes place in royal style at the Udaipur palace and it is hard to take our eyes off the location. It’s not just the wedding location but the tiny tour that Naina and Bunny take in the beautiful city that makes us want to fly there right away.

2. Spain – Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara
This film is responsible for so many buddy travel plans that may or may not have materialized. Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara captures Spain so beautifully that it remains etched out in our minds. Kabir, Arjun, and Imran are three college friends who finally set out on a trip that they had been planning for a really long time. In Spain, they fall in love, mend broken relationships, overcome their worst fear and rediscover themselves. We are so left in a vacation mood after watching Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara.
3. Lucknow – Ende Ummande Peru
There are very few movies that bring out the beauty of Lucknow, a city rich in authenticity and heritage. Malayalam movie Ende Ummande Peru is one among those few movies. Hamid (Tovino Thomas) along with his estranged stepmother (Urvashi) catches a train to Lucknow to find Hamid’s biological mother whom he has never met in his entire life. Before they actually find her, the two take a tour of the beautiful city, eating the finest delicacies and cherishing the moment.
4. Kolkata – Kahaani
Kolkata is the essence of Kahaani. It is only in this graceful city that a story like Kahaani can unveil. Vidya Bagchi, a pregnant woman, comes all the way from the USA in search of her missing husband. She, along with fellow cop Rana loiter in the streets of Kolkata to pursue her missing husband. We fall in love with the city as the mystery unravels. The tramp train, Durga Pooja, and several other factors weigh in for this love that we develop.
5. Mumbai – Wake Up Sid
There’s a curiosity about moving into a new city, isn’t it? We leave our homes and family and move to a new city in pursuit of dreams. Here in this new city, we make new friends, maybe find love, make mistakes and if things go well, make our dreams a reality. Aisha Banerjee comes to Mumbai just like that, to pursue her dream of becoming a writer. It is through Aisha that we see the abundance of opportunities that Mumbai offers. Maybe that’s why it is called the city of dreams. Mumbai is not just a location, rather it is a character in Wake Up Sid.
6. Kumbalangi – Kumbalangi Nights
Being someone from Ernakulam, I myself was unaware of this beautiful piece of land in my city until I saw Kumbalangi Nights. A lush, green, and serene place, Kumbalangi fetched Kerala Tourism a good business after the release of the critically acclaimed film Kumbalangi Nights. If you ever visit Kerala, make this spot a mandatory ‘must-visit’ on your list.
So which place did you fall in love with?
