Hindi Movies on SonyLIV that deserve your attention!
Not many know that SonyLIV is an OTT platform with an abundance of entertainment resources. Here are some Hindi movies on SonyLIV that are some of the finest in the industry.
1.Piku (2015)
Piku is one of my favorite movies of all time. Set in the rustic backdrop of Kolkata, Piku explores the dynamics of the relationship between a father and a daughter. Piku is a 30-year-old architect who lives with her 70-year-old stubborn father and has the task of balancing between her professional life and taking care of her father. Piku is a film that will instantly win us over with its overall humor and simplicity. It is one of the best Hindi movies on SonyLIV.

2.PK (2014)
PK is a fantasy comedy film that raises strong arguments on blind faith and customs that disguise themselves in the form of religion. The film addresses the issue with very unique and creative storytelling. An alien, PK (played by Aamir Khan) comes to Earth and accidentally gets stuck on this planet. His struggle to make sense of the pointless customs and beliefs comes across as funny and witty. The film also stars Anushka Sharma and Sushant Singh Rajput in important roles.
3.ABCD 2 (2015)
If you enjoy dancing like me, then this is your cue to watch ABCD 2 right now on SonyLIV. Directed by notable choreographer Remo D’souza, ABCD 2 takes inspiration from the story of Suresh Mukund and Vernon Monterio, founders of Fictitious Dance Group, who went all the way to San Diego to take part in the World Dance Championship. You can see the dancing prowess of Varun Dhawan and Shraddha Kapoor in this film as well. The presence of the dancing legend Prabhudeva adds to the excitement and entertainment of the film.
3.Bhoothnath (2008)
It wouldn’t be fair to tag Bhoothnath as a kid’s movie alone. Bhoothnath is a horror comedy-drama that can be enjoyed by everyone irrespective of age. The film stars Amitabh Bachchan as the scary ghost “Bhoothnath” who keeps shooing away people who come to stay in his residence. While his tricks do their work for most people, they become irrelevant when Bunty and his mother come to stay at Bhoothnath’s residence. Bhoothnath and Bunty get along and form a friendly bond with each other. Their camaraderie is fun to watch and keeps us hooked throughout.
4.Chameli (2003)
Chameli tells the story of an unconventional bond formed between Aman, a wealthy, young businessman, and Chameli, a prostitute. They meet on a sporadic rainy day and their lives change forever. The film stars Kareena Kapoor Khan and Rahul Bose in the lead roles. It wasn’t quite likely for a female actor like Kareena to play a prostitute in a mainstream movie. But the film turned out to be a major turning point in her career. Chameli was initially helmed by Anant Balani but taken over by Sudhir Misra after the death of Anant while the film was still in the making.
5.Satya (1998)
Directed and produced by Ram Gopal Varma, Satya tells the story of an immigrant (JD Chakravarthy) who comes to Mumbai in search of a job. In this period he befriends a guy named Bhiku Mhatre (Manoj Bajpayee) and both of them are drawn to the Mumbai underworld. Brilliantly written by Saurabh Shukla and Anurag Kashyap, Satya portrays a raw and real picture of the crime scenes in India. It is regarded as one of the best works of the director Ram Gopal Varma and is considered one of the best films ever made in Indian cinema. Satya went on to receive a cult status over the years. It is also one of the best Hindi movies on SonyLIV.
